Austin Wayne Self No. 98 AM Technical Solutions S’loonshine 98.9 Preview

2014 Scott Rookie of The Year Austin Wayne Self will complete his second full season in the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards Friday evening in the S’loonshine 98.9 at the Kansas Speedway.

Self has shown steadily improvement in 2015, including capturing first career ARCA win in June at the famous Winchester Speedway.

Self, driver of the No. 98 AM Technical Solutions Chevrolet for Mason Mitchell Motorsports (MMM) enters the finale sitting third in ARCA championship points. The Austin, Texas native sits 60 points behind second place Josh Williams, with a solid performance the 19-year-old could finish as high as second in points.

“We’ve had a lot of ups and downs in 2015,” Self stated. “We had a lot of bad luck after Winchester that set us back in the points a little bit. I would love nothing more than to finish the season in victory lane for AMTS, Pirate Energy and MMM. They have all stuck with me all season long and they all deserve another trip to victory lane.”

“I really enjoy racing at Kansas, it’s my favorite 1.5 mile track that we race at. Last year I was battling for the lead and unfortunately we got caught up in an incident.”

Self will have plenty of fans cheering him on Friday evening. He will have over 30 representatives from AMTS in attendance for the final race of the 2015 season.1

Self also heads into the final race leading the S&S Volo Long Haul Award. The award is presented to the driver at the end of the year ARCA awards banquet who completes the most laps during the season. Self has completed 2,593 of 2,628 laps (98.1%).

Chassis: Self will race chassis No.  614 out of the MMM stable. Self last raced the chassis last month at the Kentucky Speedway to an 11th place finish. The chassis has three starts in 2015 earning two top-ten finishes.

The Full Throttle S’loonshine 98.9 at the Kansas Speedway will be live on Fox Sports 1 Friday, October 16th beginning at 7:30 p.m. CST. . ARCA will also provide live timing and scoring at Arcaracing.com will for all on-track activity.
