Self driver of the AM Technical Solutions No. 98 for Mason Mitchell Motorsports (MMM) was the fastest driver on-track during the last 15 laps of the race and made up critical ground. Self was able to slot into the third position on the final lap passing Tom Hessert out of turn four to earn his fourth top-five of 2015.

“This finish was huge for our MMM team,” Self stated. “We’ve had some bad luck the last couple of weeks so it was nice to come out of Michigan with a solid top-five.”

“We played the fuel strategy perfectly and almost won the race. I can’t continue to thank AM Technical Solutions, Pirate Energy and everyone on this MMM team for their support.”
“I am really looked forward to Chicagoland this weekend, MMM was successful here last year winning the race with Mason. I am looking forward to getting the No. 98 back in victory lane.”

Menards pole qualifying presented by Ansell was rained out Friday morning due to persistent rain. Self would start in the seventh position for the 100 lap event.

When the green flag waved on the ninth race of the 2015 season Self slid back to the 10th position. Self continued to race in the 10th position until the caution waved at lap 36 for a passing shower.

Self visited pit-road under the caution for four Hoosier tires and fuel. Self brought the No. 98 back down pit-road with 1 lap remaining under the caution at lap 48 to top off on fuel.

The Austin, Texas native was able to move around Tom Hessert into the third position on the final lap to earn his fourth top-five finish of the 2015 season.

This marked the sec
