Austin Wayne Self in the Top 10 for Daytona Testing

Over 70 drivers migrated to NASCAR’s birthplace over the weekend to test setup for the 2014 ARCA Series season opener at Daytona International Speedway. From 28 states and 4 countries, the optimistic drivers strapped in ready to roll, and among them Austin Wayne Self from the Lone Star State. Wheeling the 22 Cunningham Motorsports Dodge, Austin turned heads and gained valuable seat time building the foundation for his 2014 season.
Self boldly approached top speeds and quickly separated himself from the field. As a rookie, he also learned the elements of drafting while at Daytona. “I learned a lot this weekend. Drafting, setup and feel are all important. We worked on that a lot and it showed! We led the top of the charts throughout the weekend and everyone worked really hard. The guys at Cunningham gave us a great car and we want to win,” said Self.
If Daytona is any indication of the 2014 season, Austin Wayne Self will be the driver to watch. In the final test session Self took P2, and maintained top 10 for overall test results. Below are the results for the final test session. The official race, The Lucas Oil 200 presented by MAV TV-American Real, is set to run February 15 at Daytona International Speedway and will air live on Fox Sports 1.
