Back At It: Last month AM Racing announced that Austin Wayne Self will return as the driver of the No. 22 GO TEXAN | AM Technical Solutions Chevrolet Silverado with 2021 marking Self’s fifth full-time season.
Austin Wayne Self Truck Series Daytona Stats: Austin Wayne Self will make his sixth start at Daytona in Friday’s NextEra Energy Resources 250. Self earned a career-best second at the 2.5-mile superspeedway in 2017 and has two top-10 finishes since 2016.
His best start came in 2019 when he qualified 12th.
He carries an average starting position of 18.6 and average finishing position of 16.2.
2020 Recap: Despite a pandemic, the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series completed a full season with Self participating in all 23 events from February to November 2020.
Self captured a season-high seventh at Texas Motor Speedway in October and finished a competitive ninth in the penultimate race of the season at Martinsville (Va.) Speedway. He finished the year with two top-10s, six top-15s and 15 top-20 runs.
Self, 24, finished 16th in the driver championship standings, while AM Racing cemented 21st in the championship owner standings.
He’s Back!: Ryan Salomon who joined the AM Racing team as crew chief last October at Kansas Speedway will continue to lead the Statesville, N.C.-based team as crew chief of the No. 22 GO TEXAN | AM Technical Solutions Chevrolet Silverado in 2021.
In his four races as crew chief for Self last year, he guided the Austin, Texas native to two top-10s and four top-20 efforts and carrying an average finish of 13.75 in the final stint of the 2020 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series season.
I Do….: During the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series off-season, Austin Wayne Self married longtime girlfriend Jennifer Anderson, sister of fellow NASCAR Camping World Truck and Xfinity Series driver Jordan Anderson in December.

Race Information:
The NextEra Energy Resources 250 (100 laps | 250 miles) is the first of 22 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series races on the 2021 schedule. Practice begins on Thurs, Feb. 11 from 5:35 p.m. – 6:25 p.m. Qualifying is set for race day, Fri., Feb. 12 beginning at 3:10 p.m. The field will take the green flag shortly after 7:30 p.m. with live coverage on FOX Sports 1, the Motor Racing Network (Radio) and SiriusXM NASCAR Channel 90.
