“Given a few more laps we would have been fighting for the win.” –AWS
Austin Wayne Self left Mobile Speedway with a P12 finish, and is eagerly climbing the points chart. The 22 AM Dodge qualified 5th with a 17.951 lap time at 100.273 MPH. “We worked really hard to get the car to work for us, we made some really good pit stops, and our team never gave up. We should have finished higher but I am happy with how we did. The 68 car got into my rear and turned me around, which was a huge obstacle for our team- we came back from that and it showed how strong our team is.” –AWS
The Cunningham race team was challenged by the dynamics of the day but certainly rose to the occasion! “We had great communication the entire time.” –AWS There was a mutual line of expectation that the team and Austin set forth and met for this race. “Moving into Salem, I know we are ready. We have all the components necessary and in line to compete for a championship and now it’s about racking up points.” –AWS
The 22 AM Dodge will now be headed to Salem Speedway where Austin Wayne Self is optimistic and is counting on making a run for the win! For updates follow Austin on twitter @AustinWSelf and on Facebook.com/AustinWSelf .
