Transmission Failure Ends Austin Wayne Self’s Dover Chances Early

Austin, TX (May 14, 2016) – For the second consecutive week of NASCAR Camping World Truck Series competition, Austin Wayne Self was plagued by unforeseen circumstances outside his control.Dover1

Down on luck, Self’s Dover chances came to an abrupt end after losing his transmission 43-laps into the JACOB Companies 200 at Dover International Speedway.

Friday’s early exit resulted into a season-low 32nd place finish for the No.22 AM Technical Solutions Toyota team. This has been especially disappointing considering Self and his new team started the season with three consecutive top-20 finishes.

“We just seem to have bad luck the last couple of weeks,’ said Self.  I hate for my guys and the entire AM Technical Solutions team. I know these sort of things are part of racing and every team goes through this at some point but it still doesn’t make it any easier.  I guess we’ll go home and get ready for Charlotte next weekend. Hopefully things will turn around!”

DoverThe AM Technical Solutions team will hit the reset button for next week’s North Carolina Education Lottery 200 at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
